Lot 1119 AA is from smallholder producers in the Nyeri and Kirinyaga
counties of Kenya, on the slopes of Mt. Kenya at altitudes of 1,700-2,200
meters above sea level. Kenya has two harvest, a main crop and a fly crop. This
lot comes from the fly crop, the first of which Regalia has ever purchased.
Kenyan coffees are singular because of the mild climates, high elevations and
volcanic clay soil. The soil creates a complex coffee with high acidity that is
sought after by connoisseurs throughout the world.
We have found this coffee to have juicy, blackberry notes, reminiscent of the finest AA coffees from this region.
