We are lucky to have purchased a very special coffee from the Daterra Masterpiece Auction Lot of 2018. Laurina, or “Bourbon Pointu” is a rare varietal from the Reunion Islands with small, pointy beans that usually present a lower caffeine amount than other Arabica varietals.
The Laurina cherries were fermented in an aerobic fermentation tank, as an experimental variation of the anaerobic fermentation techniques.
Named after the Brazilian rhythm, Forro is a very popular musical rhythm from northeast region of Brazil. The most traditional versions are played by trios of accordion, drums and triangle. Forro is also the name of the party where the rhythm and its variants are played. While these parties are more common in the northeast side of the country, they have been increasingly popular in other states organized by migrants.
